Choosing a cat scratcher involves more than its outline. Look at the working surface, the position it offers and how it will sit or attach in your home. If you expect to replace a worn surface later, check the exact model and part dimensions before you buy.
Start with texture and position
Watch where and how your cat already scratches: on a horizontal area, an incline or an upright surface. Use that observation as a starting point, without expecting every cat to respond to the same design.
- The Basic Incline Cat Scratcher has a corrugated cardboard scratching board and no ball track.
- The Wooden Incline Cat Scratcher combines a corrugated insert with a front ball channel.
- The No-Drill Wall Scratcher has a sisal-wrapped post supported by suction-mounted arms on compatible glass.
- The Fish Wall Scratcher has a woven scratching panel and uses an adhesive mounting system.
Check the room and the mounting surface
For a floor-standing scratcher, compare its footprint with the available floor area and leave room for your cat to approach. Set it on a stable surface and check for movement before use.
For a mounted model, follow the instructions for that particular mounting system. Suction mounting needs compatible glass and secure seals. For the adhesive-mounted Fish Wall Scratcher, confirm that the intended wall surface is suitable before installation. The round fish-eye opening is decorative and is not a screw hole. If you are unsure about glass, paint or another wall finish, contact us with a photo before purchasing or installing.
The two incline boards are different sizes
Measure the working board itself, rather than the outside of the frame. The listed board dimensions are:
- Basic Incline Cat Scratcher board: 21.7 × 10.4 × 1.4 in (55 × 26.5 × 3.5 cm).
- Wooden Incline Cat Scratcher replacement core: 15.7 × 10.6 × 1.4 in (40 × 27 × 3.5 cm).
These parts have different dimensions. A shared thickness or similar product photo does not establish compatibility. Match the product name, model version, length, width, thickness and how the part sits in its frame.
Before ordering a replacement
- Find your product name and order number, if available.
- Photograph the full scratcher, the board and the edges or supports that hold it in place.
- Measure the existing part and compare it with the model-specific dimensions above.
- Contact us to confirm the compatible replacement and its current availability before ordering. A replaceable design does not mean a refill is currently listed or in stock.
Check the surface, frame and fixings regularly. Remove loose debris, follow the product’s care instructions and stop use if a part becomes loose or damaged. Avoid forcing an ill-fitting board into a frame or improvising a mounting point.
